So I'm at this yard sale today and this old couple had a Beaulieu 6008 for sale for $10.00...
Without looking too excited I asked them about the camera while I picked it up and looked at it...
So it was Sunday afternoon and it looked like the couple wanted to start shutting down... Anyway, the old guy jumps up and says to me...
"Make me an offer..."
Before I could get a word out, he then says, "Give me five bucks and it's yours..."
I was just about to say something, but instead I just took out a five dollar bill and handed it to the guy. He was happy.
Got the camera home... works great.
Feeling kinda guilty now... kinda.
It'll pass.

Stolen? You might want to check. There is a web site somewhere that lists stolen photo gear. Don't panic, you it's better to know....I think. Otherwise, you dog!!

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I was at a tag sale recently and there was a Bell & Howell camera, projector and table screen. I ask them how much and the old lady told me "$450 firm".

Shot some film with the Yard sale 6008... we'll see how it comes out. I already have another 6008 so it was easy to compare... and it compared really nice.
Yeah... if there was some way to find out if it's stolen, I'd be MORE THAN HAPPY to give it back to it's rightful owner since I've been the victim of filmmaking equipment theft myself... back when I couldn't affort shit.
So if anyone knows of a web site that might list information like this, I'd definitely check it out...

Filmy!!
You lucky son of a bitch!
I bought a Zm2 awhile back, for little over a hundred bucks, but thats the best Ive done.
Course, Ive invested another Five hundred in it to make sure it will last me until either Super8 or me goes the way of the Doedo Bird.
I think I will start going to yard sales more often, I havent been to one in many a year.

Jeez! Five bucks!!!
I think I ought to start getting my happy butt out of bed at the crack of dawn on Saturdays to check out the yard sales. The best deal I ever got was my Elmo ST-180e projector, which cost me $15 at a thrift store. That projector still runs like a champ.

When I started shooting super8 and knew NOTHING, I saw a beautiful canon 1014xl-s for, gulp, $45. I thought that was an "outrageous" price for a super8 camera (I bought by Keyston reflex camera for $5 at a big garage sale and a kodak projector for $2.50). When I got home and looked it up, and realized what I had missed, I slammed my head against a wall a few times.
It hurt.
That was in late 95 or early 96.
I haven't been back to a garage sale yet. But there is always this saturday. hehehe.
